BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont writer has returned from her three-week trip to the Olympics in Paris.
Peggy Shinn is a writer for the U.S. Olympic Committee and has now covered eight Olympic Games.
During her time in Paris, she says it was a great experience to watch and speak to Vermont’s Olympians and follow their journeys.
Shinn covered events from beach volleyball to taekwondo for Team USA. Between the beautiful venues and the Olympic atmosphere, she says the experience was unforgettable.
“Being able to be out in the city, experiencing the city, having fans there again, there was just a really great energy in Paris and it was actually hard to leave to come back. You know, Vermont’s kind of quiet. You have a quiet life at home, so I do miss all the city sights and the vibe that Paris had,” Shinn said.
Shinn says she’s excited to see how the U.S. prepares for the next summer Olympic Games scheduled for 2028 in Los Angeles.
