HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY GATHERING AT THE BIG CHILL, A PLACE WHERE THEY WATCHED HOLT COMPETE ON THE COURT DURING THE OLYMPICS. WE TALKED TO MAX HOLT ABOUT THAT WARM WELCOME. Olympic medalist Max Holt brings volleyball bronze home to College Hill
Cincinnati native Max Holt, an Olympic bronze medalist in Paris, returned home to College Hill on Tuesday.Holt, playing in his third Olympic games for the United States men’s volleyball team in Paris earlier this month, won bronze when the US defeated Italy. The 37-year-old Purcell Marian graduate scored 11 points in the medal-winning match against Italy.The Paris Olympics were Holt’s third Olympic games after he was previously with the team during the 2016 Rio Games and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.On Tuesday night, Holt’s family and friends gathered at the Big Chill, a bar that held watch parties for people in Cincinnati t0 cheer on Holt during the Olympics.”Everybody’s so nice and friendly and the people that I’ve known and people I honestly have never even met, just to have my t-shirt on here is amazing,” Holt said.
