Andy Murray resumes his Olympics campaign as he writes a remarkable final chapter to his career at Paris 2024 with doubles partner Dan Evans.
Team GB are now in the quarter-finals following two breathtaking victories over Japanese duo Taro Daniel and Kei Nishikori and Belgian duo Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen. They take on Team USA’s Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul, looking to create more memories, with victory able to secure a bronze medal match at least.
“It was unbelievably emotional,” said Murray after victory over Gille and Vliegen. “You’re unbelievably happy and then for whatever reason, I don’t know why, but happy tears. I was really emotional at the end of the match, extremely happy, excited that we managed to get through another amazing finish.”
Thursday also sees many other fascinating matches at Roland Garros as Katie Boulter and Heather Watson continue their women’s doubles charge and the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek are in singles action.

A reminder of how Nadal and Alcaraz exited the men’s doubles yesterday.
Rafael Nadal revealed he is unlikely to play the US Open as he dropped his strongest hint yet that his career could very soon be at an end.
Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz’s crowd-pleasing run in the men’s doubles at the Olympics came to an end with a 6-2 6-4 loss to American fourth seeds Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram.
The 14-time French Open champion gave a lingering wave to all sides of Court Philippe Chatrier, but it seems very likely not to be just Roland Garros that does not see Nadal on court again.

Paul wins the next point to take us to 7-6 and match point, but Alcaraz somehow reaches a backhand in the back corner of the court to take it to 7-7.
A straightforward volley from the Spaniard gives him another match point, and he wraps it up moments later with a bachand towards the baseline that forces the error from Paul!
A valiant effort from the American but he has fallen to the second seed, and the Spaniard will compete for a medal at Paris 2024!
